Jean-Philippe was born in Québec. At the age of 12, he moved to Costa Rica in Central America with his family where he lived for the next 12 years of his life. He graduated from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica as a system engineer.
In his last year of school, Jean-Philippe started to work for a multinational; the first 2 years as team lead for a technical support group and the last 3 years as a hardware specialist. During this time, Jean-Philippe had a quick trip to Kuujjuaq and loved the people, the place and the culture. When he heard about Soleica and the type of projects they offered, he was very interested in joining the team to learn new areas of IT and also learn more about the first nations.
