Grand Council of the Crees website [used to be www.gcc.ca].
In order to be elected as Grand Chief/Chairperson of
the GCCEI/CRA, a candidate must secure an absolute majority (50 % + 1) of the valid votes cast. If no candidate secures a majority on
the election of July 15, 2013, a run-off election must be held between the two candidates with most votes at a time to be determined
by the Chief Electoral Officer.

Final Results of G.C.C.E.I/C.R.A Elections - July 25, 2013
[...] In accordance with Article 26 of Section 2 of Bill 115, an Act to Amend the Act respecting the Cree
Regional Authority, which specifies that the Grand-Chief/Chairperson must be elected by an absolute
majority vote (fifty percent + one), and in accordance with the results of the Election of July 25, 2013,
hereto, Dr. Matthew Coon Come has secured 3416 or 57.42 %
of the valid votes cast on the run-off

Therefore, pending any requests f or a review of the standings and process, which must be received
within period of five (5) days, I hereby declare that based on the Results of the elections of July 25, 2013,
in my capacity as Chief Electoral Officer of the Cree Regional Authority, Dr. Matthew Coon Come
